aiglosicicle SG i’ve been told that when doing crunches it is actually dangerous to use my neck. i’ve noted that advice but whenever i do crunches somehow i just feel a slight strain in my neck. how do i perform a correct crunch? and how do i know if i’m doing it right?
aiglosicicle SG erm.. i do feel my abs but somehow i feel my neck too. the strain is not very strong just really really slight and my neck feels weird afterwards. is that supposed to happen?
eagle SG Then make sure your neck don't bend A proper crunch is all about squeezing your abs as hard as possible. Done properly, one would find it hard to do more than 10~12 reps in a set, maybe less. It is more on quality than quantity. Quantity only counts when you want to cheat in the army, when they make us do more than 20 at one shot. But that is not a proper crunch.
MidnightK SG can do other exercises.. like bridge.. can find a lot more online.. hard for me to list out..
galapogos SG Crunches are a pretty non-functional ab exercise. At best it is incomplete. At worst, it can cause injuries.
OPT SG Shows how little you know. On another note - weak deep cervical flexors are the reason people feel their necks..... Read and learn http://www.optimumperformance.com.sg/article%20-%20abs.htm
eagle SG Gd morning OPT... That day I was around the area of Carpenter street, then went up to your place, but was already closed... Expected, since it was around 8 plus pm. Btw, can ask you if your office really sell fish oil 300s for 19 bucks?
galapogos SG Peter is seldom at the gym, or will be at weird times, so don't expect to pop by and find him there, since it's a private facility. You gotta make an appointment. And no he does not sell supplements in Singapore.
