Why should we limit per gym session?

Agenda SG

Let's get OPT to explain..

Assuming you mean the workout duration, it’s due to hormonal balance between the anabolic and catabolic ones. Usually the limit is about 45-50min, unless you’re under specific supplementation such as BCAA/Glutamine.

I do 2 hrs, but it's usually because I need to wait for gym equipment.

galapogos SG

That’s way, way too long. I spend about 2 hours at the gym but 1+hour of it is spent warming up and doing core work. Actual strength training from the first to last work set is kept within 50min. Even when I was messing around last time it never exceeded 75min. 120min is way too long.

eagle SG

i waited 35 mins for one machine today... wanted to do squats, no other machine to use... stupid right?

OPT SG

There are alternative exercises.

What gym you train at where you can share the power/squat rack?

eagle SG

Clubfitt

Someone was using it for deadlift, so I could not share for squat.

OPT SG

who uses the power rack for deadlifts? Are they stupid??

eagle SG

Not really a power rack... I dunno how to describe it... But it is used for both squats and deadlifts by everyone there

AndrewPKYap SG

because you can't possibly do it 24/7?

My experiences of Clubfitt

When I walked inside the gym, this fella doing machine curls.

After my prep work, training session, wash up and change and as I walked out of the gym,he is still doing his machine curls...

I am sure, this kinda fella is very common all over.

galapogos SG

Actually in most gyms you have to use the power rack for deadlifts. They don't have spare olympic barbells lying around, so either you take it from the power rack or from the bench press station, and if you take it from the power rack you might as well do it in the power rack since the rack would be useless w/o the bar and you may be blocking someone else if you do it in the open.

I pull in the power rack at my gym.

I did everything heavy in 1 hr today, but continued on lots of resting and minor exercises at a relaxing weight while waiting for my fren to finish. That should be ok right?

The 45-50min limit is from your first to last work set.
