ArdusKane SG Are half-pistols helpful for a person who can't do the full one? And another question: Squats and pistols hit the same muscle groups, or are there some differences?
Simon Dean SG He means like on stairs first like what mike mahler(World renowned vegan kettlebell instructor) suggests. Since you are interested in bodyweight exercises.Dragondoor.com and t-nation.com are some good sites but the former is better.
ArdusKane SG Since I have a chair with adjustable height, I can lower it as I improve until I can do a normal pistol.
galapogos SG To answer your 2nd question, they hit similar muscle groups, but the single legged version will obviously be tougher since you need much more balance and flexibility. Read Michael Boyle's "The Case for Single Limb Training at http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1543621 for more information.
JoBonez SG thought pistols focus more on power than strength? so pistols can still build a big muscular ass?
Marco_Simone SG When you can increase your pistol by 10 more reps,do you think your lower body will still be the same?
