Applies to most but not all

1)Do very heavy but partial movements(1/2 rep, 1/4 rep)

2)No gym etiquette e.g never re-rack weights, return dumbbells, weight plates.

3)Hogging equipment such as benches, machines and weights.

4)Act strong

5)Never even train legs, never squat (a senior dragon-boater once chided them for being naive.Thinking that squats have no use on the boat)

many girls think that young dragon boaters are attractive and muscular.Yea and at the way some of them are training they will be handicapped by 30 years old

the lao jio dragon boaters 30 plus are quite humble and nice people.Those 18-20 are mostly fu*ked up.

I DUN REALLY AGREE WITH YOUR VIEW COZ I HAVE 2 CLOSE FRIENDS WHO R DRAGONBOATER. THEY RETURN ALL THE WEIGHTS BACK TO THE RACK, ALTHOUGH THEY DO HEAVY, BUT QUITE LITTLE JERKING OR PARTIAL MOVEMENT... ABOUT THE HOGGING PART, I AM NOT SURE

erm so what and i see pro sbbf bodybuilders training with a 1kg dumbbell.Is ego more important than form, i dont care what you are training for.Form is the main priority.When you are injured how to compete.

This can describe accurate younger rowers such as those from SAFRA,JCs,Polys.Poser types who thinks that dragonboaters are everything...Especially those from SAFRA,can come in one big group and hang around the entire free weights section talk cock sing song.

I remember once this SAFRA dragonboater kid left the plates on the bar.I shouted at him: "Oei,NS boy,come and take back your weights." He a bit paiseh,lala had to derack...haha...

1) yah , guilty as charged. Sometimes after pushing until cannot sustain proper form , will try to push out a few more half or 1/4 reps

2) ahh this i've never done. But sometimes i find that i have to replace the weights for some of my teammates who just walk off after using them.

3) Er done this also i guess. But usually if people ask to share we will freely agree.

5) Personally i train the legs too because its not possible to sustain power through 800m with only upper body strength. However, there is a common misconception and obsession with the upper body among dragonboat boaters , many of them ignore the legs resulting in tinny legs and big upper bodies , look damn weird.

Yah i du-lan them too... ok abit jealous lar haha cos most of them are freakishly muscular and tanned (everything i'm not haha)...
but they are really a irritating sight... so big size till wana train, hog up the space when amateur wana lift weights...

And most them like to wear like gay... those singlets or tight tees from newurbanman... come in one big group, talk & act like the gym is to satisfy their attention-seekin egos... puiz cao nuan Mad

They are no big deal.I am bigger than some of them.

By the way,I would like to clarify that only those kiddo boaters(SAFRA,JC and poly) are the only ones who put on airs and piss people off. Those from unis or working adults are very professional with regards to gym rules.

when you say crap form, meaning muscle still aching but still go and train?

and it's only common sense to wait till the muscles no longer ache then only you go for another work out eh? or would you suggest doing light cardio like cycling, jogging, skipping, swimming etc....

crap form as in doing the exercise incorrectly.eg doing squats,see people do 1/4 squats b4,legs did not even go to at least parallel,might as well dun do.Or people use weights that are too heavy for them,then end up try to use other muscle group apart from the supposed targetted muscle you want to work out on to help lift the weight and in the worst case,using momentum swinging wildly to bring the weights up
