Aveme SG Hmm anyone has any insight into this. Is doing one set x 8-10 reps with heavy weight better (where after this 8 reps, you can't do any more) or is more sets eg 3 sets x 8 reps with medium weight better Better as in for muscular strength growth (need not necessary for size)i check for info on fitness websites and see almost all recommending going for a few sets. But going to the gym,i find alot of people just doing one set with the heaviest weight they can manage
Simple_Bear SG As in High Intensity Training (HIT)... In the case of HIT, you still have to do a warm up set, a working set. You also need to choose a few exercises not just one. Basically, you still do more than one set but then you focus more on 'beyond failure' training...
Enigmatic1 SG Both options will work. If you want to utilise the second one, keep your rest periods short, I.E. 45s to 60s. Your later sets will start feeling very heavy as fatigue sets in.
