Can someone give me alist of ccrimes which were unheard of
singapore in the last decade?
I believe with the influx of foreigners, there are some new
crimes being committed
Serial animal killing - Done by foreign workers who eat dogs and
cats believing they have "magical " properties or done by sickos
as part of rituals for afterlife.
ATM Hack - Done by bangladeshi, this thing was non existent in
the 80s and 90s but was found in the US (hackers)
Drug Peddling using women - Done by nigerian scammers, found all
over the world but not in singapore. In the past it was run
by individual drug peddlers who get caught easily
'push pocket' - Somebody slips a hand-phone into
your pocket, sometimes it could be just a wallet with an identity
card and a few Ringgit.A few minutes later, the 'owner' comes up
and confronts you, the 'thief '. He makes a big commotion that you
stole his stuff.You, caught unaware, are then pulled aside by the
'owner' for a settlement you are intimidated and threatened that if
you do not pay up, the police will be brought in. If you pay up,
this 'owner' will lets you go. If not, the police are brought
in.there always seems to be a 'witness' to the your 'theft'. No one
knows which country this originated from.
Magic jewel and gems - Done by PRC who con old people selling
them these things claiming they have magical properties
Phone lottery Scam - Someone calls u and says u won a million
dollars and asks for yr bank details
