The Japanese entertainment industry had to make a move on
youtube, but they lost the plot in the long run.
They cant blame their low dorama ratings or poor Jap record sales
to p2p or youubes.
They have to look deeper into why.
1. Snobbish attitude, slapping high premiums on their Jdramas
making it difficult to obtain license for their DVDs/VCDs or
television rights. Unlike their Korean counterparts.
This leads to reduce access to Jdramas, therefore lost the
marketshare.
2. Relatively poor singing prowess of J-singers compared to
K-singers. Those good J-singers are not managed by Avex/Sony,
therefrore lost market awareness, people only know singers under
Avex/Sony.
3. J-pop products too expensive for youngsters or even working
hippies who cannot afford much, therefore again reducing
accessibilities.
J-wave will always be under K-wave if the Japs continue to impose
their snobbish isolationist stand. (They dun like Gai-jins
anyways)
