usually 6 mths...sometimes I'd even cut it by myself when I feel
like it, I can do the japanese-style layer cut quite well by myself
by visualizing and feeling the hair at the back with my fingers
without mirrors. My friend confirmed it looks ok. 
Advantage is that I can get it to exactly the way I wanted it. But
usually take me an hour to cut properly. Somemore save 30
bucks...I'm a cheepo.
