EPL more important than the europe mickey mouse cup. if united were to lose, I wont lose sleep over it. its best that fergie sent a reserves and duly get knocked out of the europa league.

Team news for Thursday night's Europa League clash between Athletic Bilbao and Manchester United at Estadio San Mames (kick-off 6pm).

Valencia: Returns to face Bilbao

Antonio Valencia is set to return from a four-week absence with a hamstring injury as United look to overturn a 3-2 first-leg deficit in Spain.

The winger returned to full training on Monday and offers Sir Alex Ferguson a useful attacking option given Nani is among those who did not travel to northern Spain.

Phil Jones is also missing from the trip, in addition to Anderson, who is thought to have a hamstring injury, but Chris Smalling is available again after a head wound re-opened during last week's loss to the Spaniards at Old Trafford.

United (from): Amos, De Gea; Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ferdinand, Rafael, Smalling; Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Park, Pogba, Scholes, Young, Valencia; Berbatov, Hernandez, Rooney, Welbeck.

I don't bother if we lose... Actually I would prefer if we didn't get through as the q-finals and s-finals will be very close to our meeting with City on Apr 30. And it could effect our run-in. Therefore, i don't think it will be helpful.

Playing in this kind of match isn't good as we may get more injuries and our players will get lesser rest time in between games as well. So i wouldn't mind if we draw as this isn't CL, just a europa cup.

Because of this cup we lost Valencia for almost a month. Let's not let this happen again.

Here we go: Rooney (R) and Rio Ferdinand pass the Guggenhein Museum just hours before their crunch Europa League clash

Smile, Wayne: Athletic Bilbao fans mob Manchester United striker Rooney during his pre-match stroll

Wayne Rooney was mobbed by Athletic Bilbao fans as Manchester United took a pre-match stroll around the Spanish city.

The England striker is expected to lead the line for United this evening as manager Sir Alex Ferguson fields a strong line-up against the La Liga side.

United are 3-2 down heading into the decisive last 16 second-leg tie following last week's defeat at Old Trafford and they must win at least 2-0 or match Bilbao three away goals if they are to keep their European hopes alive.

Rooney appeared in a focused mood just hours before kick-off as United's staff and players soaked up the vibrant atmosphere in Bilbao.

And he maintained his calm as excited Spanish supporters crowded round him to get their photographs with the star.

Rio Ferdinand accompanied Rooney in the sunny Basque Country as the squad explored the sights, including the stunning architechture of the Guggenhein Museum.

To be frank, i am more disappointed with City going out than United. I had thought with United out and City going forward, they will be occupied, could get injuries... United will have some advantage... But I think City also went out on purpose man or how can they beat Porto so easily and not Sporting Lisbon? They started their match after knowing United's result and decided to ease off on theirs as well of how do you explain they can allow a Sporting side to score 2 goal in the first half alone?

Anyway, back to this match... I think Bilbao played very well again. They are the most fittest and hardworking side i have seen and they deserve to go through. They manage to raise their game on both occasions and full credit to them.

If you watched the match, man city worked really hard, almost got through, dun think they delibrately want to go out, joe hart almost scored if not for the fingertip save at the last min...

how man city lost, well the stupid balotelli gave away a dangerous freekick in a dangerous area, i think even i can score that goal...

what a waste of time. I have said along, forget about the Mickey Mouse cup, rather focus on winning EPL than Europa League. would you win the EPL or Europa League?

now 2 days to recover before the match at Wolves. I hope united wins at Wolves to create a 4 point lead before city plays chelsea. I hope chelsea beat or draw city.

Eh your logic abit funny... why must you choose between taking $500 or $2000 when you can have both... but now talk so much also no use, now left only 1 thing to go after...

I think Zocoss should pick a bigger Man Utd emblem and smaller opposing team in threads. Like this thread, Man Utd so small, no wonder lose. See other recent Man U's games, all the logo bigger, that's why win.
