Paul Scholes has been named Barclays Player of the Month
for August.
Manchester United
midfielder Scholes was outstanding in his side's opener against
Newcastle, scored a superb goal in the draw at Fulham and was at
his brilliant best in the 3-0 win over West Ham.
Scholes, 35, has now received the award four times in his
glittering career and is only one behind Wayne Rooney and Steven
Gerrard in the all-time list.
He is tied with Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo, Frank Lampard,
Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
