WAYNE ROONEY will shred Fabio Capello’s nerves by
refusing a break between now and the end of the season.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United ace is the key
man in England’s bid for World Cup glory this summer. And,
after his first ever four-goal haul, against Hull on Saturday,
Rooney underlined his importance to United.
Fergie said last week he must rest his main man some
time, and Capello will hope the United boss does.
Rooney said: “I’m sure Sir Alex and Fabio Capello have
different ideas for me for the rest of the season, but I want to
play and, whenever I’m asked, I will.”
Fergie hinted at his dilemma when he said: “Wayne will
want to develop himself as a scorer and he has had some terrific
finishes.
“His development since he has come to the club is
testament to that. He is very seldom left out.”
Rooney passed his prev-ious best 16 league goals and
needs only three more to match his 23-goal season’s best in
2006-07.
