The Russian shot-stopper is high on Sir Alex Ferguson's list of
targets as he searches for Edwin Van der Sar's long-term
successor.
The Scot was hugely impressed by the 23-year-old in his side's
two recent Champions League clashes with CSKA.
The Russians are desperate to keep Akinfeev, valued at £14m by
United.
But Akinfeev wants to leave as CSKA are in danger of missing out
on even a Europa League place.
The keeper currently represents himself in all negotiations, but
is considering recruiting an agent after being stunned by CSKA's
high valuation.
