A television licence (or broadcast receiver licence) is an
official licence required in many countries for the reception of
television (and sometimes also radio) broadcasts. It is a form of
hypothecation tax to fund public broadcasting, thus allowing public
broadcasters to transmit programmes without, or with only
supplemental, funding from radio and television commercials.
But in SG we pay
for licensing fees and we still get lot of Ads! Thats double
income for the Tv station.
Btw i dont see any benefit of having a TV in SG. because the
programs suck and we can easily rent DVds or d/l
from the net popular sitcoms and shows like CSI
I've alrdy said even if we pay $1000 for TV license fee is not
enough
cos how many household do we have tat are able to pay TV
license fee and how many TV Channels do we have to cater to
everyone?
