Man United To Launch €47m Bid For Valencia's Villa

Dead_Man_Inc SG

According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, Manchester United are ready to enter the race to sign Valencia's David Villa this summer.

Apparently, Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson has identified the 27-year-old as his top target and is ready to rival any offer made by Barcelona.

Indeed, it is claimed that the English champions are preparing to lodge an offer in the region of €46.8 million (£40m) for the 5ft 9in striker.

However, it seems that the 48-time capped Spain international may have already dashed United’s hopes, ruling out a move to the Premier League on Thursday.

Although Real Madrid have pulled themselves out of the running to sign Villa, a move to the Santiago Bernabeu may still be his preference.

Still, United may be willing to make an offer Los Che cannot refuse, especially as they have €94m (£80m) to play with during the close-season.

So many rumours on us buying striker, first Benzema, then Aguero and now Villa?!

I think its the tabloids, not fergie.

Seriously I think he wants to buy Benzema, Etoo and Valencia, 3 realistic targets.

As for Villa everyone knows its a bidding war, whoever bid the highest will get him and he wants to stay at la liga.

I’d like to see Benzema, Augero and Valencia at United next season. Young proven players who are likely to excel

I like to see Benzema, Robben, Ashley Young, Buffon joined Man Utd. With this lineup, even Barcelona or RM will have trouble matching Man Utd lineup. Buffon, Wes Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Robben, Young, Carrick, Anderson, Rooney and Benzema Sub: VDS, O Shea, Park, Nani, Berbatov

VDS is good enough we do not need Buffon, when VDS retires then it's time to find a new keeper, or maybe Foster can play as well.

So how's Fergie gonna fit Berba, Rooney and Villa?

Unless he decides to put Rooney on the left wing forever, one of them gonna become the next Tevez.

villa is 27 and he is going to spend alot of money to buy him? why not buy benzema as he is 21 nia.

seriously, we all read how MU has put a policy on signing "old" player so the only realistic target is benezema.

however, I am quite skeptical cause Villa has said he wants to stay in Spain, Benezema wants La Liga, Aguero is Maradona's son in law or something who just advised tevez to sign for MCity. All 3 are big money, and worse, untested in EPL. A big big risk for MU this coming season.

Ok la, what i meant was, would any of these big names mind being rotated constantly every week, sitting out of big games etc.

Maybe he should go for less established players.

I would recommend Marcus Berg of Sweden. Only 22, but already a pretty good scoring rate in the Eredivisie.

seems every turn, RM is there with their cheque books.

RM is in debt now, but they will recoup most of the money thru selling kaka and ronaldo's jerseys and image rights.I am sure plenty of RM fans are rushing to get their jerseys printed with their names behind. the spanish banks that lend them money, will not bankrupt RM one dun worry, unlike leeds. RM has the backing of the King of Spain and government.
