Rio Ferdinand looks set to be
fit for Manchester United's UEFA Champions League tie against Inter
Milan on Wednesday.
The centre-half had been an injury concern for the second leg of
the last 16 clash after suffering an ankle knock against Fulham in
the FA Cup.
Ferdinand was replaced by Jonny Evans at half-time in Saturday's
4-0 win and left Craven Cottage wearing a protective boot.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted after the quarter-final
victory that his stand-in captain was a big concern for the visit
of Inter.
However, Ferdinand took part in training with United on Tuesday
morning after responding well to treatment on the injury.
His availability would be a major boost for the Champions League
holders, with Ferdinand to resume his partnership with Nemanja
Vidic, who missed the first leg through suspension.
Ferguson has concerns at right-back, with Gary Neville, Wes
Brown and Rafael da Silva all injured, although John O'Shea trained
after suffering with a heel injury of late.
