Where would the champions be if Ronaldo had left for
Madrid?
As a consequence of Sir Alex Ferguson’s attempts to accomodate
Dimitar Berbatov, Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer the focal point of
every Manchester United attack but despite that he has scored more
league goals this season than Berbatov, Carlos Tevez and Wayne
Rooney combined.
Ronaldo has eight goals compared to Rooney’s three, Berbatov’s
two and Tevez’s one and also has a far superior minutes per goal
ratio than any of his teammates:
Player Minutes per league goal
Cristiano Ronaldo 104 Wayne Rooney 298 Dimitar Berbatov 468 Carlos
Tevez 561
Dimitar Berbatov has played every minute of all ten league
matches he has started whereas Ronaldo and Rooney have completed
seven, while Tevez has completed just three.
