Sky Sports News have reported that Manchester United
are hard at work today attempting to strike a deal over a summer
transfer target, with boss Ferguson confirming an offer -
presumably their first of the summer - has been made for an unnamed
player.
There's a tangled transfer web forming at Old Trafford at present -
not least due to the Cristiano Ronaldo saga - but the Red Devils
appear to be pressing ahead with their plans as they look to
bolster the squad.
The Premier League and Champions League winners have been strongly
linked with Tottenham's Dimitar Berbatov throughout this
pre-season, while Blackburn's Roque Santa Cruz less likely has also
been touted for a move to Manchester - although the Paraguayan has
pledged his future to Paul Ince's team.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's future at Ajax continues to be a subject of
scrutiny, with conflicting reports one minute suggesting he is
eager to stay and prove himself to new coach Marco van Basten and
others suggesting he is honoured and intrigued by interest from the
likes of United, with Arsenal also thought to be in the
frame.
River Plate's highly-rated Colombian international Radamel Falcao
Garcia and Juventus' Sebastian Giovinco, too, have shown up on
United's rumour radar this month, as well as Chilean prodigy Alexis
Sanchez..
Who will it be?
