The man in question is German international
striker Lukas Podolski, who began the tournament in sensational
form with the two goals which defeated Poland in the Group B clash
on Sunday evening.
The 23-year-old was a bargain £6million signing for Bayern Munich
two years ago, and the Bundesliga giants would be extremely
reluctant to entertain interest in the player this summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson, though, is in the market for a new striker due
to Louis Saha’s injury problems, and he could plot to tempt the
Germans into a sale for around £20million.
