Rangers beat Sporting, who are not commenting about any possible
scouts at their Jose Alvalade stadium on Thursday might.
However, Queiroz's presence suggests he is continuing to keep tabs
on the progress of Miguel Veloso and
Joao Moutinho.
Queiroz possesses in-depth knowledge of Portuguese football, while
United have a special relationship with Sporting Clube de Portugal,
from whom they acquired Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.
And United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a known admirer of both
Veloso and Moutinho.
The two players are being strongly tipped to make summer moves out
of Lisbon, and United appear to be serious potential suitors.
That fact that Ronaldo and Nani both made successful moves to Old
Trafford, and that compatriot Queiroz is also at Old Trafford,
could be a significant attraction for one or both of Veloso and
Moutinho.
