Gary Neville will make his first competitive appearance since
October when he lines up for United's Reserves on Wednesday
evening.
The Reds' club captain is part of the squad which will travel to
Widnes to face Everton, fuelling hopes that he will be ready for a
senior return in the near future.
Neville, who has struggled with an ankle injury since March last
year, is by far the most senior member of a 16-man squad selected
by Brian McClair and Jim Ryan, although first-team squad member
Danny Simpson also travels.
Ritchie Jones, Craig Cathcart and Michael Lea are also included in
the party, having returned from their respective loans at Yeovil
and Royal Antwerp.
United squad:
Zieler, Heaton; Neville, Simpson, Eckersley, Chester, Cathcart,
Lea; Hewson, Gray, Jones, S Evans, Cleverley; Dong, Brandy,
Fagan.
