Sheasy a doubt for Sunday

John OShea is a doubt for Sundays trip to face Liverpool after suffering a groin strain during Uniteds Champions League draw with Roma.

The versatile Irishman, scorer of last seasons dramatic winner at Anfield, sustained the injury late in the first half at the Stadio Olimpico.

Hes got a groin strain, Sir Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports after the match. He got it near half-time when he made a clearance near the goal-line.

OShea was replaced just after the interval by Wes Brown, just moments after Jonny Evans had suffered a late challenge from Ahmed Barusso, who was fortunate to escape with just a booking.

Jonny got an ankle knock, but was ok and was able to play on, said Sir Alex. The second challenge looked a bad tackle and I think he was lucky to get out of that.

Wayne Rooney captained the Reds in Rome, but Sir Alex was otherwise able to rest a host of big-name players ahead of Sundays showdown on Merseyside.

We took Wayne off with 20 minutes to go, which was perfect for him, said the manager. He wanted a game. He didnt need it but he wanted it, and we were happy to let him play.

Weve got a big game on Sunday, its a massive game. Manchester United and Liverpool derbies are always that way. The players who are at home are getting good training sessions in readiness.

last time when I was still studying O levels.. I remember got one chapter on Venice. One part was too complacent about their histories and past glories.. Straight away I think of Liverpool lol.

I got a weird feeling about the clash between the Reds and Red Devils. =/

But still, I keep the faith la. Hope all Red Devils out there do so too. Razz

for you info, ever since the EPL started, liverpool has NEVER won it at all. Laughing

Pitot SG

as long as rafa stays. they will never win the BPL.

He gives up on it easily and prefers the champions league.

FYI, last place team in BPL gets more money than champions of CL. Laughing

its just for the prestige nowadays.

Hi, nice to meet you!

Could you kindly tell me which year in the past are u living in?

zocoss SG

No lah, cannot count like that... All the EPL clubs will get a standard sum, (Rumour to be $30m from Tv money) maybe more than the CL lah but progressing and winning give you extra money. And who don't want extra money? Players salary will still remain the same as they are paid by the week... So more games the club earn more money lor...

Actually in a way, CL is more money cos the city will benefit from all the extras... The thousands of fans from another country come to the city and spend on the Hotels, Food, Taxi, Pubs... Everything lah like a tourist... But if you go all the way to the Final, then you could make more than the $30m liao... Mr. Green
