There are different social classes in the world. The Working class usually refers to a section of society dependent on physical labour, especially when compensated with an hourly wage. I want to find out where the line is in Singapore where people is considered working class. Maybe the explanation below would clear up certain doubts.

In societies where classes exist, one's class is determined largely by:

Don't be so naive to think that just because you have a job, you're considered working class as there are other classes like Middle class or Upper class.

I think the naive one are you. From what u said, u seems to identify working class, middle class and upper class to classify people.

For a start, middle class usually refer to people who earn an "average" salary... dont ask me what is the average... upper class people usually refer to people who earn huge salaries and perhaps hold high status in the society... dun ask me how much money earned is consider upper class.

Finally, whether these people are no class, low clas, middle class, upper class - They all belong to Working Class.

If you still dont agree with this statement, i suggest u dont do anything about it and just stick to your belief.

I’ve never thought of putting CEO and degree holders in the category as Bangladeshi workers before. Thanks mate.
But I think what nerdzrulz is trying to find out is the term of blue-collar workers in Singapore.

simnatic SG

The majority of Singaporeans belong to the lower middle class range (also commonly referred to in singapore as working class). Usually these refers to the higher earning blue collar workers in Singapore(poly diplomas). The next biggest class is the upper middle class (lower-midhigh white collar/graduates), consisting of the middle management people (managers, higher grade civil servants)

In Singapore for you to be considered as living in poverty, you would have to live on less than SGD10 a day. For more information can go check on Singapore Statistics Book at your nearest Public LIbrary.

for all the uneducated people here. Working class DOES NOT refer to all people who are working. Who taught you that 'working' is to be taken literally? The 'working class' is a social entity comprising largely of blue collared workers and lower income earners. Above the working class would be the middle classe in which you would find some businessmen, merchants and the intelligentsia. above that would be the upper classes, mainly aristocracy although the highly successful merchants might make it here by virtue of income.
