Reports in Spain claim Sevilla rejected three offers for their
stars before the transfer deadline, one of them from Manchester
United.
Chelsea's determination to sign Daniel Alves was well documented
before they eventually settled for Juliano Belletti after being
unable to agree a fee for the Brazil international.
However, it has now emerged that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson
considered bringing Alexander Kerzhakov to Old Trafford.
Seville-based sources suggest an 18 million (£12.5 million) offer
was rebuffed by the Uefa Cup holders who declared that the Russian
was not for sale at any price.
The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals for his country and netted
twice against Recreativo at the weekend.
The third player who attracted attention during the transfer window
was Brazilian midfielder Renato.
Shakhtar Donetsk tabled a bid in excess of £10 million that was
rejected as Sevilla plan for more European glory, starting with the
Champions League tie at Arsenal on Tuesday.
