Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has undergone successful minor surgery to
clear up a knee injury and is expected to be fit for the start of
the new season.
Whilst away on international duty with Norway, Solskjaer alerted
medical staff to discomfort in his knee.
After consultation with United, it was decided he would be sent for
an operation to clear up the problem.
According to Norway's team doctor Thor Einar Anderson, the
operation was a success.
"The surgery went fine, but he won't be able to play in the game
against Hungary on Wednesday," he said.
"We found what we expected when we looked at his knee. It was a bit
swollen and the knee joint was a bit irritated, but we treated
it."
It is hoped that the problem has been dealt with and Solskjaer will
be able to return to full fitness.
"Hopefully his knee will be better when he resumes his training,"
added Dr Anderson. "We hope that this is not something that will
return again and again, but it's too soon to say."
