What Formation?

omgukilledkenny SG

With the treble signing of Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson.(hopefully we'll be getting a proven, more experienced striker...and offload saha)

What team do you think Fergie will put out?

mine would be..

4:3:3
------------------VDS----------------------

Neville ---- Rio ---- Vidic ---- Heinze

----Carrick - Hargreaves - Scholes----

Ronaldo ------------------- Nani/Giggs

----------Rooney/Anderson-------------

4:4:2(against weaker opposition)

------------------VDS----------------------

Neville - Rio - Vidic - Heinze

Ronaldo - Carrick - Scholes/Hargreaves - Nani/Giggs

---------Rooney -- Rossi/Anderson-------

With Owen Hargreaves at the back keeping things tidy and the array of striking talent available....The opposition would probably crap their pants at the sight of the red army running at them.

ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!

Xtrider SG

i think rooney cannot solo striker…he dun score 30 a season and he like to drop back one…so dun think can 4 3 3

gigabyte14 SG

eh eh

rooney cant catch high balls well, remember?

sand king SG

hmmm, i thought Henzie want to bye bye laio?

iceFatboy SG

we can't attack attack attack all the way..
rem, Milan and recently Chelsea, they stopped us and grind it to a halt..

IMHO ->

Gk - EVS

DEF - EVRA, VIDIC, RIO, GARY (Cpt).

MF - RONALDO, SCHOLES, CARRICK, OWENH, GIGGS.

FW - ROONEY.

however, it will be a 4-3-3.

Owen, Carrick, Scholes, MF, with Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney all upfront.

And from there, spawn others formation... but importantly, Carrick and OwenH, back-tracking defensive mid fielders.

Can sell Park liao…

No no no... You see every of these players are important.. Different opponents require different approach.. Europe games would definitely need flair and technique and these is where the foreigners come in.. Domestic games is where english players come in.. The hard no nonsense play.. I hope fergie can keep everyone happy.. Every player is important and I hate to see anyone leaving that includes Richardson..

CKeer SG

I'd still like to see 4-4-2 with Scholes and Giggs playing smaller roles and the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo, Nani, Carrick, Hargreaves and Anderson will run the show. Mr. Green

However, we do seem to have too much manpower in midfield and lack of options at the back. We need Pique, Evan and Bardsley for next season! Sell away O'Shea, Silvestre and Richardson while they still have some value.

Cheers.

park workrate so good where can sell. he is the pride of asia leh.

I don't think Oshea would be sold, he did quite alot last season..

Very Happy offload Ferguson

Laughing
In my opnion, he's just a lucky player la. Always pops up at the right moment to score crucial goals. Always at the right place at the right time.

Do you see his defending at right-back against teams like Roma and during the later part of the season? It's woeful and awful man. Besides his huge frame, i think he's pretty much useless. Confused

Yes, he's versatile, but we could get Pique to perform his duties as well. Maybe Pique will impress? Wink

Cheers.

If I am not wrong Oshea style of playing is to pump high ball forward for the forwards to chase. In other words, he gifts procession to the opposing team since 1 out of the 10 long punts actually does find its target?Darren flecter or web brown did a better job at right back.

omgukilledkenny SG

hopefully not, i think he's way better at defending than evra. Plus, now we'v got more attacking-minded players, heinze's defensive qualities would be much required.

iceFatboy SG

well, in order to win in soccer, we need skills, quality, and also luck.

I think by not playing him as one role but multi-role has robbed him of stability and inability to progress.. Fixed him as RB, and then focus.. I bet he will be better. but due to manpower, he does everything.. so how to specialize??

actually, I find Oshea tackling to be better than most, cause he goes for the ball and get it.. just observe. that's his better quality.

however, his wing play is not too good..

4getmenot SG

might as well sell DONG first.. hes start looks even more unlikely as nanni can now cover Ronaldo position while Ronaldo can act as shadow striker behind Rooney..and then there is still Anderson.. i guess SAF figured, if we can;t defence well.. at least we will attack well.. Mr. Green

iceFatboy SG

I am still thinking of getting Ronaldo to do a Henry and move up front.
He can shoot, dribble and can head too.

that will allow Nani to come in..

just worried that during counter-attack, MUFC will be a bit thin..
