Injury setback for Ole
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is struggling to be fit for Norway's Euro 2008
qualifying double-header after complaining of pain in his
knee.
The Norwegian striker missed his country's last two qualifiers
through injury and is definitely out of Saturday's clash with
Malta.
The 34-year-old has aggravated a knee problem and faces a race
against time to be fit for Norway's second home game against
Hungary next Wednesday.
"Ole will train separately before next Saturday and will then join
the rest of the squad to be with the boys," said Norway boss and
ex-City defender Age Hareide.
Norway's physio, Thor Einar Andersen, added: "Solskjaer has felt
some pain in his knee. It's not possible for him to train with a
football at the moment.
"He is a smart fox, and he has proved before that he can return
from injuries. The problem has been caused by too much training; it
is not a new injury."
Solskjaer made 32 appearances for the Reds during the 2006/07
title-winning campaign, netting 11 goals.
