i would rather spend the money on wesley sjneider or van der vaart who will fit man u's system very well. a near-30 yr old deco for 15m is a lil' bit too pri...

Manchester United reportedly lining up a sensational £15million summer swoop for Barcelona's Deco. The Catalan giants are planning to overhaul their squad at the end of this season and according to the News of the World Sir Alex Ferguson is planning to sign the unsettled Portuguese ace.

Deco has already hinted he wants a fresh challenge after three years at the Nou Camp and it is thought that bringing him to Old Trafford would help ensure Cristiano Ronaldo pens a contract with United.

Although Ronaldo's new deal is expected to be five years, there is still disputes over the pay with the player holding out for more than £100,000 per week in the summer.

WOOHOO! Very Happy

omgukilledkenny SG

if this is true,
i'd rather they go get Wesley Sneijder, he's two footed and a great passer of the ball.

perfect replacement for Scholesy!

I find it quite hard to belief that Barce would let him go... But then again, he would be 30 yrs old in about 5 months time... And Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain coming out to say Eto'o, Ronaldinho will stay but no mention of him so... who knows... Smile

I agreed.... Very Happy

The Glazer brothers better keep their tabs on the account book.

i dun think SAF is mad to fork out that much for someone who is in his 30s in the next season.. signing him would mean, we'll still have to fork out another lump sum in a year or two to get 'fresh blood'... unless Fletcher /O shea improves enough to be in the regular squad.. we aren't chelsea whos got a sugar daddy lar.. Mr. Green

I saw the news on the New Paper and i was like Shocked .
I think getting Hargreaves or Nani would be much better den getting someone old for that kinda price.

Cheers.

dragg SG

he is a really good player.

iceFatboy SG

the only reason i would believe Deco is coming is that he can locked down Ronaldo.

no other reason seems wise otherwise.

he is old, he has not played EPL, another Larsson??

what MUFC is an old folk's home that keep ex-internationals???

a joke man!

used SG

if he was a few years younger i would buy but not at this age. use the money and scout south america, there got a lot of talent one

jianfish9 SG

I think Larsson has been a better striker than almost every other striker in the premiership less maybe drogba, berbatov and a couple others.

15mil is a little on the high side for a 30yr old though. We are not chelski. Scholes can at most last another season or so and someone with vision and good passing is needed to replace him. The only other player in the Epl right now that can fill his shoes is Fabregas but I don't think arsenal like to sell him.

Wat position is best suited for Deco? Manu still bent on getting Hargreaves? If Manu getting both, I tink Manu will release at least 1 midfielder wor… Park… Carrick… Richardson… Fletcher… Giggs… BETTER NOT Giggs. Else I curse Manu till Ryan Giggs retire from football altogether.
