I OFFERED RONALDO TO BARCA - AGENT

zocoss SG

Cristiano Ronaldo's agent says he offered the Manchester United star to Barcelona last year.

The Portuguese winger is currently the hottest player in the Premiership after a sensational run of recent performances.

And a poll of Barca fans this week picked him out as the player they'd most like to see joining the reigning European champions.

Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes now says he actually offered the winger to the Catalan giants late last season.

He told El Mundo Deportivo: "I offered to the player to Barça (in April-May 2006), but they told me they were expecting to sign Thierry Henry and rejected a possible deal."

Mendes claims the price tag for Ronaldo might only have been around £12million at that time, but says it's probably doubled since then.

He says his client is very happy at Old Trafford, and that United would be highly unlikely to sell him.

"At this point it is practically impossible that the player can join Barca because Manchester would not sell him for all the money in the world."

12 mill? knn... hes worth more then zidane + face value... whoa 100mill also not enuf Laughing

thats typical of agents...quick to associate themselves with the biggest clubs to show how "well-connected" they are.

Ronaldo's arrival changed the way Man U plays on the right flank, back then with Beckham, there's no speed to down the right flank, now there is. I hope to see more of flank attack, with Ronaldo flying down on the right & Giggs (prob too old) or Park flying down on left. Wow...

Cristiano shouldnt go. He’s too good for Barca. He can be improved by staying at Manchester United.

iceFatboy SG

fortunaely, he returns to MUFC.
for in MUFC, they gave him the support.
and opposing teams gave him the boos to spur him, and in fact, accelerate his growth.

now, he is more mature, and strong-willed.
excellent for MUFC.

just hate how this agent act..

Worth more than Zidane?

Zidane is much better than ronaldo, anytime. There is no comparison between a legend and a newbie.

sand king SG

haha yea man!
lets hope Ronaldo becomes a legend

iceFatboy SG

ZZ is a different class altogether.

but at the same age, I bet Ronaldo may have an edge over ZZ.

LetterboxMind SG

Precisely. Zidane is a legend. An aging legend who head butts in the World Cup knowing he can get away with it because he is a legend.

Yeah, nobody's perfect yada yada yada. Ronaldo is still worth more than Zidane. Who wants to buy an old man now?

iceFatboy SG

hey, give credit & respect to ZZ.
and yes, he is an old man, but doesn't need you to buy him.
I bet he got enough.

4getmenot SG

give time and Ronaldo will be a legend if he keeps improving and improving Smile

credits to ZZ to one of the best playmakers the worlds has ever seen... y is it that the best playmakers usually come from FRANCE..?? Twisted Evil
