Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has labelled Henrik Larsson the best player
to come out of Scandinavia since Michael Laudrup.
Larsson has joined Manchester United on loan from Swedish side
Helsingborgs and netted on his debut for the club against Aston
Villa on Sunday.
The former Celtic striker had to wait for his United debut
following his December switch, having been ineligible to appear for
Sir Alex Ferguson's side until the start of January.
Solskjaer is delighted with the signing of Larsson and believes the
wait was certainly well worth it.
"Henrik Larsson is the best player we have had in Scandinavia since
Michael Laudrup," he told Aftenposten.
"He continues to get better, and it was important for the manager
to see what kind of shape he was in because he hadn't played for a
while.
"I do not think he was disappointed."
Defender Patrice Evra is also full of praise for the latest
addition to the United squad.
Larsson's loan deal at Old Trafford is due to expire on 12th March,
although his stay could be extended until the end of the
season.
Evra added: "I am very happy for him that he scored because he is a
good man. He wants to work for the team and has good
experience.
"Henrik is a big player, and you can see he has lots of qualities.
Every time he touched the ball he caused problems for the other
team.
"I am very happy to play alongside someone like him at United."
