FERGIE SWITCH TO ROVER BENTLEY
MANCHESTER UNITED will make a move for Blackburn's David Bentley if
they fail to land Bayern Munich and England midfielder Owen
Hargreaves.
Bentley has caught the eye of United boss Sir Alex Ferguson with a
string of impressive performances this season to put himself in the
frame for a £5million move to Old Trafford. While United remain
confident they will sign Hargreaves, 25, for around £17m, Bentley
is now an alternative target.
After being released by Arsenal, he went on loan to Norwich before
securing a permanent move to Ewood Park.
Bentley, 22, scored a hat-trick against United in Rovers' 4-3 win
last season and has since earned himself a starting-place on the
right of midfield with a string of good displays.
