Carlos Queiroz says Michael Carrick's integration to life at
United is going according to plan.
The £14million signing from Tottenham is gradually finding his feet
at Old Trafford, and the Reds' assistant manager is delighted with
his progress.
"Michael's adaptation is in good progression," he said. "It's not
easy to arrive in the middle of our team and play immediately but
our opinion is that hes doing fantastically."
Enjoying more possession and working with a new attacking quintet
could have been a culture shock for the England midfielder, but
Carlos is happy with Carrick's progress.
"Its completely different to be in the middle of the park at
Manchester and control the game and dictate the game with players
like Wayne, Cristiano, Ji, Giggsy," said Queiroz.
"If you compare the front five of our team with that of Tottenham,
it's completely different. So he is adapting his game very well to
players he didnt know until he arrived here."
Despite being pleased with Carrick's progress to date, however,
Carlos admits there will be more to come from the 25-year-old in
the near future.
"His form is natural," said Queiroz. "Whats not natural is to
expect that one player comes here and then, with a magic step,
reaches his top form immediately. Whats going on is natural for
me."
