hw also would have one. but as usual ...

this year only mc and bmw cars come in 1/18 scale minichamps which is a shame really

The 2003 collection would be a bit late as I have been busy lately. I’ll get the missing photo done by Saturday Afternoon. Next week, I’ll have to skip the 2004 collection as I’m missing one or 2 cars so I can’t show it. So only the 2005 collection on the final gp weekend then the 2006 collection which recently just completed.

The year is 2003. Like this year (2007) there were a few hopefuls for the crown. MS started the year with the old car and did not win until imola, the 4th race of the season. A few won their first races, kimi, fisi and alonso all of them whom HW made specials for them. fisi won in a terrible race of attrition in the brazillian gp of 2003 which is a must watch for how dumb a race can and will happen in the race especially for that expensive car park which saw no less than 6 cars parked there. The models collected during this period reflect how close the season was and what really happened. The title was more or less secured during the US gp where it could go 3 ways, montoya, ms and kimi but MS won very narrowly in wet conditions. Only a valiant fight from RB at Japan helped MS to win it from the ever charging Kimi. With this I bring you the 2003 collection.

To start off. The car which ferrari started the year with, premiere edition of 2003. The famous F2002 which won its first and last races (and many inbetween) in its life. People call this the Australian GP car because it was raced there....

yeekin SG

Normal box of the F2003GA. Notable changes between the F2002 and F2003 are as follows, front wing, gills on the sidepods and exhaust vents.

The yearly canadian GP special where the top 3 cars were lined up together at the fnish line. MS had fading brakes to content with and this was the car which brought him the points which made him the first guy in the championship history to achieve 999 points. Used post race condition, clearly showing the gills

The race which sealed the championship for MS. USGP of 2003, note the tyre mark at the shell logo which did happen during the actual race where he touch tyres with DC. Quite exciting race which many did not expect him to win but did so after the changing conditions caught many out especially the drive thru for JPM after hitting and beaching RB. RB tried what MS did in a few races before at Nurburgring of asking the marshalls to rescue him but didn't work out.

Final race of the year. This is not the MS car since he did not finish on the podium but that of RB. Constructors cup is all about the 2 drivers hence both of them.

I call this the holy grail of the collection, more like 2nd place now but it is a very nice car. This years mclaren should look like this if I were to buy it from HW. The first car I know to exceed 3 digits (besides the minichamps then) but still look very impressive. This is the 6th WDC title car.

With this I'll move on to the 2005 collection next week.

nice chorme ferrari!!

BTW, who is planning to buy Lewis Hamilton first win model here?
Either Minichamps or Mattel! I just pre-ordered Minichamps 1/18! Very Happy
I think who wants to buy the first win should pre order now, cause the models are selling really fast and good. By the time, the Minichamps released the first win model in Q1 2008, it should be sold out already!! Razz

Jasonist SG

gosh... really??? will i have a chance to get this model??? Question

gp3 SG

depends whether u want the Minichamps or Mattel one.. Laughing
but both are selling fast..!! Exclamation

Jasonist SG

my final 2006 f1 model, the BMW Sauber F1.06 of Jacques Villeneuve from Minichamps... there will be more shots on this model... Wink

Jasonist SG
