breytonhartge SG Who has not felt the torment of anger? Who has not later regretted something said or done in anger? A word spoken in anger can destroy volumes of kindness. Strangers will more easily remember a moment of anger than many seasons of peace.
Bontakun SG Its a hard one. Having anger and avoiding sin is not impossible, but extremely hard. Just know that leaving all revenge to God will do. Be humble and patient. Be nice to those who mistreats you. Bless those who curse you. Smile back at those who shows
Bontakun SG Well, as long as we exercise patience and humility. Why not? Oh, and ask for God's guidance too.
breytonhartge SG in considering anger, what are important key points to bear in mind as a lesson for all? Anger "stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins" (Proverbs 29:22). Fathers, especially, should not provoke their children to anger, "lest they be discouraged" (Colossians 3:21). Anger gives the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). Consequently, "mans anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires" (James 1:20). How can we escape the tyranny of anger? A Biblical understanding of anger recognizes that it can be either appropriate or dangerous. What matters most is what we do with our anger, whether we hold onto it, in which case it may lay hold of us, or submit it to the lordship of Yeshua? what is the Cost of Anger?
breytonhartge SG then sometimes it seems difficult because often anger refuses to back down and always wants to have its voice... unless dealt with, it will always lurk beneath the surface waiting to erupt again when provoked... and often out of proportion to what provoked it. That is the scary thought. I have seen this in my mother, myself at times... but on the converse anger can lead to truth, lead to the answering of injustice... and it does guard against the indifference to sin.. the mindful thing here is not to react to anger in an inappropriate way or at too low a threshold...
breytonhartge SG here are some that just came to mind... 1. Anger stirs up more anger... but proverbs does say... but "a gentle answer turns away wrath" (Proverbs 15:1). 2. Both verbal and physical expressions of anger actually reduce the threshold for subsequent aggression. 3. Anger can only be soothed by the Holy Spirit (eph5:18 )
Chin Eng SG That's my point..... at the end of the day, everything can be sin, everything can also not be sin... The issue is self control.
vince69 SG unker, you misread Brey on this, his statement is (as I understand it) when in anger, do not sin. He did not says anger is sin, all he said was there is a tendenecy to sin (lost control of emotion) when in anger, hence we should not allow our emotion to take control and commit sin. He also said, to remain self-control is hard when in anger, this I also agree, its not easy when the emotions are "haywired".

Chin Eng SG there are people who would consider anger as sin. I am not saying that brey is one of them. I have even heard some folks saying that Jesus can get angry, we cannot because Jesus' anger is "holy anger".... duh! I'd rephrase this anger/sin/self control thing as: when one is angry, and does not have self-control, there a tendency for it to lead to rage.
