I want to buy a bicycle which I just want to use for transportation, like riding around the country. It has to be geared as sometimes I need to go from toa payoh to AMK quickly. (For school) For this purpose, what types of wheels and other things must I take note of?

xxoddxx SG

Wtf la I dont want to spend more than 200 bucks. Do bicycles really cost that much?

then look for mountain bike..

yes.. its that expensive... for a good one

xxoddxx SG

hmm bmx can be as fast as mtb take a look at the gear ratio not the size of bike ppl always misunderstand tat mtb u can get one less than 200 but it wont work as well as other expensive mtb =) try giant or some megastores

Uraniumfish SG

Why not some specialised bike shop? There are two in toa payoh central and I was thinking about buying from there.

youyayu SG

yes it can be faster but u will be like a bull riding it.. where i can relax and ride at the same speed as u!

xxoddxx SG

speciallised shop -more ex cos better quailty=) lol if u budget u can get watever bike la u like which type? can jump here jump there or u wan smooth

gear changer is helpful, but no need for those with too many speeds, you end up getting tired shifting them or you actually never get a chance to use the extreme high and low gears.

xxoddxx SG

yea bmx rider they concentrate more on stunts tats y the seat low which make riding harder.. you wan fast and smooth choose mtb! =)
