Ukraine striker Andriy Voronin is to join Liverpool in the summer
on a four-year deal, BBC Sport understands.
The 27-year-old, who is a free agent in the summer, has reportedly
agreed a four-year deal with Liverpool.
Part of the Ukraine side that reached the World Cup finals in 2006,
Voronin has scored six goals in 20 league games for Leverkusen this
season.
No-one was available from the German club to confirm further
details of Voronin's transfer to Liverpool.
Voronin played twice against Liverpool two years against when Rafa
Benitez's side beat Leverkusen 6-2 on aggregate en route to winning
the Champions League in 2005.
The Ukraine striker also featured in Leverkusen's 3-2 win over
Blackburn in the Uefa Cup on Wednesday.
He played for Leverkusen on Saturday as they lost 1-0 to Hannover
in Germany's Bundesliga and missed a good chance late on.
If the deals goes through, Voronin's transfer would be the first
under the new regime of George Gillett and Tom Hicks after the
American tycoons agreed a takeover of Liverpool earlier this
month.
