Going over: Luis Suarez wins a penalty for Liverpool
against Arsenal
Kenny Dalglish has called on the FA to examine
Arsene Wenger’s comments after the Arsenal manager used Luis Suarez
as an example in an outspoken attack on cheats.
Wenger said Suarez ‘went overboard’ to earn Liverpool a
penalty in a game at Anfield earlier this month after he collided
with goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, even though television replays
showed there was contact between the pair.
Liverpool boss Dalglish was incredulous that Wenger
claimed ‘nobody touched’ Suarez and queried why the Frenchman did
not feel the need to raise the subject immediately after the match,
which Arsenal won 2-1.
Dalglish said: ‘He (Wenger) had a go at who? He never said
that to me. He said it was a fantastic performance and they were
very fortunate to win.
Not happy: Kenny Dalglish is angry at Arsene Wenger's
accusations
Accusations: Wenger said Suarez went down too
easily
'I’m sure the FA will look into that and take him
to task. If you can’t comment on the England manager’s position
then you can’t comment on a player can you?’
Meanwhile, Dalglish has shrugged off speculation involving
Paris Saint-Germain and Suarez, insisting that the Uruguayan’s
interview with French TV station Canal Plus was taken out of
context. Suarez was quoted as saying he would ‘love’ to play at the
same club as his compatriot Diego Lugano.
