No More Good Goalkeepers?

HyuugaNeji SG

Last time people play football by walking and strolling, taking own sweet time to score. Nowadays, everyone aiming to score. How to compare?

Personally, i think GK nowadays are better than in the past. More agile, more alert.

I think Hugo Lloris from France is not bad, and the Czech guy with the helmet (what's his name?).

In the past besides the likes of Schmeichel and Shilton, there was also those at the top like Pat Jennings, Dino Zoff, Walter Zenga...

Present day the current dutch no.1 Maarten Stekelenburg is also very good.

i love neville southall of everton.

they were the league champions then.

Lionel Lewis also not bad. Save a lot. Remain composed despite having lots of shots at him.

yes in the 80s and 90s, there were many world class goalie like shilton, southall, zenga, schmeical, not to mention david seaman.

now obly buffon and casillas are world class. Joe hart, to me is maybe an above average goalie, dun see him any worldclass.

Stekelenburg is good, but not sure if he is up there with Buffon and casillas.

I sense sarcasm in it..... He is good only in south-east asia region, average in asia.

OT: i believe there will be world class keeper, just need more experience for them like De Gea and Joe Hart

I prefer Peter Schmeichel...one of the best.Neuer from Germany is not that world class yet while there seems to be a lack of quality keepers from places like Italy,France or Holland nowadays.

Last time in the 1990s,you could even find the odd decent keeper from Norway and Sweden. Now you know why EPL managers like to scout players from Scandinavia? In South America, you have goalscoring keepers liker Ceni and Chilavert...Taffarel was also not a bad keeper too.

For SG keepers or players, sad to say that if they could not go to Europe to play professionally, they could go to Japan or other top Asian leagues if given the chance. The next better bet would to play in South America, never mind if it is in far off places like Chile or Peru.

I can't even find a decent goalkeeper around anymore.

David De Gea will be a good goalkeeper for Manchester United after bulking up and some experience in EPL.
