Hodgson eyeing January raid for City's SWP

Liverpool are preparing a £9 million January move for Wigan Athletic's in-form French winger Charles N'Zogbia, according to The People.

The former Newcastle United man has been in brilliant form of late, the high point of which being his two goals against the Magpies at St James' Park.

N'Zogbia initially fell out of favour with boss Roberto Martinez at the start of the new season after expressing his desire to move away from the DW Stadium but has started each of the Latics' last six Premier League games.

Roy Hodgson has already expressed his desire to improve his squad in the January transfer window and could see N'Zogbia as an ideal target as the Anfield club look to move away from the relegation zone.

WIDE BOY ... Hodgson wants SWP on the wing

Hodgson is short of widemen but will pay no more than £5m for SWP.

The England ace, 29, has stalled on penning a £75k-a-week offer at City after sliding out of the reckoning.

Hodgson is also after PSV's Ibrahim Afellay, 24.

Sign crap players...

No offence but I think SWP is really crap these days. Its just that he can run fast, other than that he can't really do much.
