Micah Richards says Manchester City
team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor took out his 'frustration' at
not playing regularly for the club on Lech Poznan and will do the
same to Arsenal in Sunday's showdown at Eastlands.
Adebayor had been left out of City boss Roberto Mancini's first
choice line-up for the last few weeks and was down in the
dumps.
He was recalled against Blackpool last weekend but failed to
score before responding with a stunning hat-trick against Lech
Poznan in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Now Richards believes the Togo frontman is in the perfect frame
of mind to punish the Gunners in the same way.
He said: 'Emmanuel has been quite down for the last couple of
weeks but he is buzzing now. He has been hoping for a goal. With a
hat-trick he should soon be flying again.
'I can understand his frustration. He is a quality player and
when you don't get in the first XI it is frustrating. But we have a
dressing room full of international stars, so when a chance comes
along, you need to take it.
'I am sure he will play some part. Even if he doesn't start, I
am sure he will come on. When he played last time it was his best
game of the season. Hopefully he can do well for us again.'
