Barcelona financial chief
Xavier Sala i Martin claims the club's results from the last
financial year are a record for any sporting club anywhere in the
world.
Barca's recorded annual income was set at €445 million, with the
club making a profit of €11 million.
"This €445.5 million is a record in the history of
Barcelona, the highest annual
income presented for any sports entity in any country, including
the U.S. It is a 16 percent higher than last year, 10 percent more
than we budgeted and achieved all in a context of a general crisis,
" Sala i Martin beamed.
Sala-Martin also revealed a sponsor had come forward with €22
million so Barca could continue with the UNICEF symbol on the front
of their shirts for the new season.
