Knowing that his future lies away from the Camp Nou,
Barcelona forward Thierry Henry will ask the club for a free
transfer to his next club, according to AS. His next move
is strongly rumoured to be to either the New York Red Bulls of the
MLS or even the Premier League's West Ham.
Henry, currently training for the World Cup with the French
national team, has not officially given word on his plans to depart
the Camp Nou, but the news is a near certainty according to the
Spanish press.
Henry has had a tumultuous three years at Barca. Many viewed him as
woefully disappointing in his first year after moving to La Liga
from Arsenal, but 'Titi' quickly atoned by being a crucial player
in Pep Guardiola's treble-winning side.
During the past season the Frenchman's age seems to have caught up
with him as injuries hampered Henry for much of the year and he
lost his starting position in the team to the younger and more
sprightly Pedro Rodriguez.
