Kop scout Manuel Junco has been in Sarajevo to talk to the
striker's people, say sources in Dzeko's native Bosnia.
Chelsea and Manchester City are poised to make massive bids to
sign Torres - and Liverpool could spend some of the £50million they
receive on one of European football's hottest properties.
Dzeko was the Bundesliga's top scorer last season with 26
goals.
But new Wolfsburg boss Steve McClaren will play hard ball over
the 24-year-old.
Sources suggest that they want Liverpool to give them Ryan Babel
and Lucas Leiva plus cash for a player they value at about
£30m.
Liverpool risk losing out in the race to sign Dzeko because of
the uncertainty over the future of manager Rafael Benitez and their
American owners.
But their preliminary moves suggest they are already preparing
seriously for the possibility of losing Torres.
