brudder...........you obviously a big fan of Marco Simone ?

he's probably one of the most under-rated strikers of all times.............why the hell did he stay at Milan as super-sub for so long ?

cos being behind the likes of Van Basten, Gullti, Baggio and Weah is nothing to be shame about

As romanista2001 SG

Simone wasted lah......he could've been far far greater...............technically, this guy is better than van Basten...........but Milan is always leaning towards foreign players............

Simone..........the King of Volleys..................his only weakness is his lack of height..................he would have been AWESOME at Lazio...............with Signori................

Saltiga SG

Simone better than Van Basten?? hahahahaha.. okok everone shall be entitled to his own opinion, but i just cant help hahahahaha, just like someone ever claim Fandi better than Baggio hahahahaha

This is truly a classic and brings back the old memories. Italia90 is the first world cup i watched since i started following football during primary school days. I supported Argentina then due to Diego Maradona’s star status and my school mates’ influence and i have supported them till today. Have to admit they rode their luck all the way to the final where their opponents West Germany were awarded a dubious late penalty to win the world cup, my first taste of cruelty in football.

The italians were one team that impressed me besides the Germans, for their organized play and tight defence. Walter Zenga broke Peter Shilton’s record of number of minutes without conceding a goal during a world cup finals campaign. Roger Milla and cameroon also left an impression with them becoming the first african team to make it to the quarter final of a world cup.

What this world cup lacks is the goals, and imho USA 94 was the best ever world cup in terms of entertainment and goals galore.

Besides the obvious like Vialli, Mancini, Ancelotti, Klinsmann, Maradona, Pearce, Gullit, Rikjaard... etc

Did you notice Alex McLeish the current Birmingham manager in the Scotland squad?

brudder, you're swayed by the fact that van Basten had more of the limelight and fame..............van Basten may be a better predator but his game is more one-dimensional.................

Simone can create goals as a winger and can dribble much better...............this guy is technically better than van Basten...........he can score goals that van Basten can't...........

if Simone had been a regular instead of a super-sub at Milan..............he would be a much more famous player than van Basten now...........

Milan is one of those cock-up teams that favour their foreigners much much more than the locals.........

i'm not being swayed by the limelight and fame of Van Basten but by the fact that i seen both him and later Simone played, both during his later part of Ajax days and Milan while also seeing Simone playing for both Milan and PSG, agreed that Simone is pretty good but the fact still reminds that be was being sidelined due to the fact that he happened to be in Milan when some of the very best striker ply their trade in Milan at that point of time too

however, like i said, everyone has got his own opinion on the best player and we can discuss till cow come home without any form of conclusion, anyway lets agree to disagree on personal opinion

that botak is one of my favourite players.................!!!

too bad the coach of Italy was a clown back in 1990....................

chose the wrong goalie............Zenga

even lousy guys like Nicola Berti and Aldo Serena made it to the squad.............

the best strike-partnership ever was never picked to play together..................Vialli-Mancini.............

and of course Franco Baresi also overlooked......................Pietro Vierchowod also another victim...............

the coach Vicini ?? must have been a Inter fan..............always Zenga, Berti, Ferri, Bergomi and Serena ..................also, the clown never picked any player outside the top 6 clubs...............no matter how good they were !

As romanista2001 SG

better than Inter mah...............ZERO local players !

Milan is cock-up becoz they've sold many promising young Italian players while they keep their foreign players until they're useless...............

players like Francesco Coco (heard of him? he's better than Maldini but was sold off)..........Christian Panucci plus others............

Hi Roma fan, can u explain why Zenga is a lousy goalie? Also, didnt the Inter striker (Schillaci) which the coach picked turned out to be the tournament top scorer?

Baresi and Vierchowod was overlooked in Italia 90?? cant remember for Vierchowod but i'm sure Baresi was in it, and btw, i still agree that opinion defers but some of your choice is like abit too off target, Coco better then Maldini? i seriously cant agreed with you on this, no hard feelings ya!!
