Wanted: Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho
Real Madrid are expected to make a move for Jose
Mourinho after their humiliating Champions League exit by
Lyon.
Manuel Pelligrini, the Real coach, has said he will not resign
but he does not enjoy the confidence of president Florentino Perez,
who invested £200 million on new 'galacticos' last summer, or
sporting director Jorge Valdano.
Pelligrini was called 'a coward' by the underachieving Kaka
after the Lyon knockout and the Chilean's days at the Bernabeu are
numbered.
Mourinho's relationship with Inter Milan president Massimo
Moratti has deteriorated in recent months and while the Nerazzurri
are set to retain their Serie A crown and lead Chelsea 2-1 in
the Champions League few would be surprised if the Portuguese left
San Siro this summer.
Sources close to Mourinho claim he is already planning his exit
and while Manchester
City remain an option, Real are expected to make the
first move for the former Chelsea manager.
Perez is angry that a team including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka,
Karem Benzema, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Lassana Diarra once
again failed in the Champions League, especially as the final in
May will be played at the Bernabeu stadium.
Pelligrini may not even survive until the end of the season but
Real want Mourinho while Inter have earmarked Bordeaux's Laurent
Blanc as the Special One's successor in Milan.
