Understand why EU was formed in the first place. Didn't the UK
and Denmark governments, or other countries knew the impact of EU
before they joined?
Cab drivers in Singapore are all Singaporeans, is this a high
salary job? no! but the cab companies are singaporean, and
singaporeans are the best in this job. In other countries, europe
and canada, the cab drivers are all foreigners, had to depend on
GPS to find the destinations. Its the owners of the companies who
do the employing, and they decide, in their own way, ethical or
not.
MNC are evils, may be necessary evils. During the 2008 subprime
loan crisis, many big MNC had to close, their CEO had to explain
why they were paid such high salaries...but in the end, the US
government said, they are too big to be closed, many jobs at stack.
So the government bailed them over with taxpayers money, the CEO
continue to get big fat pay.
I don't think we have any differences in the way MNC works, the
difference is what do you want to do about it. blame the
government, ask them to twist the arm of the MNC?
why don't you twist the arms of the MNC? may be you expose those
companies who are anti singaporean and call on everybody to boycott
their products.
Globalization is only good for poor countries and MNCs. Poor
countries get jobs MNCs get cheap labours. Please do not be fooled
by PAP time and again.
Those businessmen in EU would of course excited about the formation
of EU. The politicians of France and Germany probably excited about
the power they will be getting after becoming the leaders of EU as
it is so large. The rests are simply fooled into joining. But at
lease the people in EU be it Danish, Spanish, English, French etc
get to move freely across EU.
What we Singaporeans get after signing PMET with India ? More
indian nationals working in Singapore grabing all the high paid
posts is what we want ? Going to work in India is what we want ?

You seems to imply we Singaporeans have the responsibility to
inform our govt of bad practices. This is so wrong ! Our govt
command all the resources and power. They can easily hire people to
check on MNCs. They can't escape the blame of condoning bad
MNCs.
Anyway I know that MOM is not a trust worthy organization. Most of
the rules they established to block foreigners is for show to
Singaporeans only. They have betray us ! The rules are not being
enforced at all.
We Singaporeans can have prosperity and high growth if PAP govt
stop its Anti-China policy. At the moment we stick to a very slow
boat called USA. If PAP can wake up their minds and let us tag to
China high growth engine we will definitely and automatically enjoy
high growth. Countries like Germany, South Korean, France, UK are
doing just that. We should simply do the same.
On the other hand there is no point sticking ourselves with India.
India is not going to grow no matter how you look at it ! They
can't even resove their caste system. Is India even a country after
they were put together by the British ?! Their corruption is like
the worst in the world. How about stop tourists being raped
?!
I say we will be better off staying far away from the Indian before
their 1.2b-1.3b and fast growing population swallow us up. Have
India started family planning program for their people ? I guess
not. They are but a hopeless country !
With the high growth we get from China our govt will be able to
pick and choose MNCs. We can then ask those who needs cheap workers
to get the freak off our land and those who prefer Indian Nationals
can move to India for all we care.
