Bringing foreign teams into the S-League will not improve the standard of the league. I remember reading somewhere where the phrase "One of the top 10 league...

Why whould this team wanna come to sg where there are small stadiums, humid weather and spicy food?

Even Ligue 3 stadiums command bigger crowds than ours. I suspect these bunch are between Ligue 3 or 4 standards. A shortchange for us.

Yes should be from division 3 or 4 or ameture team.

I rather send spore players over there to play in division 3 or 4.

Send at least 3/4 of our international players to play in europe.

Does the team even exist at the moment when the club has just been form? Or are they just about to gather a bunch of journeyman to form a team? Etoile FC... lol. Sounds like Toilet FC... lol...

The mentality of the PAP can really be reflected well in moves such as these. The root cause is because the head suffers from an identity crisis and secretly fears and despises the local people.

This is actually quite true, but can never be made public.

It must be suppressed and destroyed.

Are they really this team at their country?

If they play like any local clubs, that's will not improve our local football standard.

Brunei already out? I love this team. Make all local clubs wake up.

Etoile FC TBD Full name Etoile FC Founded 2010 Ground TBD
(Capacity: TBD) League S.League

Etoile FC is a French professional soccer club which was formed to play as a foreign team in Singapore's S.League in 2010.

Their name means star in French, and Etoile FC is the first European team to ply their trade in Singapore's professional league, as well as being the first in Asia.

Former Newcastle United and French star David Ginola will be the club ambassador.

Etoile FC became the eighth foreign team to compete in the S-League after Sinchi FC (2003), Albirex Niigata (2004), Sporting Afrique (2006), Liaoning Guangyuan and Super Reds (both 2007), Dalian Shide (2008) and DPMM (2009).

Funny that there is another Chinese club coming in, (a satellite team of the Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan F.C)....

Didn't know there is a Brunei team in our S-League: Brunei DPMM FC.

Albirex Niigata FC (S) has been here the longest among the foreign teams.

Did Super Red play aganist Albirex Niigata in the season?

Not bring in those lousy foreign club to play here.

Also let Manchester United reserve team join S League too =P

So as to attract more Singaporeans playing Man U in future (Most probably Carling Cup)
