Newcastle United have made a
sensational loan swap offer for Manchester
United Federico Macheda.
The News of the World says Toon have asked
Manchester United about a shock
loan swap that would see defender Steven Taylor exchanged for
hitman Macheda.
Toon bosses are worried about their striking options for the
remainder of the season, as the club attempt to make an immediate
return to the Premier
League.
Central defender Matthew Kilgallon is expected to move to
Newcastle next month from Sheffield United.
That would allow the Toon to loan 23-year-old Taylor to United -
who are in need of temporary defensive cover - with Macheda heading
in the opposite direction.
