what is about that "ball" still?a "world class" team cant score two at the stadium of light in 85 mins to take the 3 points is a more funnier point i guess....

take a look at the youtube comments, so many different languages.. hahaha truly worldwide audience.

there was another team who conceded a freak goal because of balloons also, i think it was man city.

Medicated Oil SG

This season, spurs , villa and man city are looking strong.

Even the team I thought will struggle, Arsenal is doing better than expected.

If Liverpool is out of CL and cannot qualify for CL next season, then I guess can save money switching to the red tube.

Unless some rich man buy over Liverpool and is a supporter of Ah Ben by Jan 2010, Ah Ben have to start looking for a club next season.

The beach ball seems to be from a Liverpool fan.

Dun blame the ball.

There is only one conclusion after this match.

Sack Ah Ben.

Five seasons of tinkering.

No youth players to show.

No improvement and depth.

Losing to Sunderland ????

and he cannot complain of no money to buy quality players.. yes, liverpool may not have the best players on the bench, but however today, we can see that even voronin can contribute to the game and making the attack more fluent...n y the hell did rafa start jay spearing and lucas together?lucas is alrdy inept at initiating attacks, spearing is intimidated by the opposing team's player and being run ragged by jones and bent...n rafa's subs is again very very very late....

n sad to say, we all can see the wenger's charges played with conviction and they know wat's the overall plan for the team...but for rafa's players, they didn't know wat to do, they couldn't even hold possession and transform it into a meaningful attack....wth is rafa doing?

if liverpool is out of CL and cannot qualify for CL, liverpool may very well be crushed under its enormous debts and be on its way to become the new Leeds United..

what's e stir with balloons?

nothing to do with that particular ball or balloon you call it

Medicated Oil SG

Liverpool got too much debts and the F6 group is not interested to share control with Hicks.

If Liverpool do not qualify for champion league this and next season, the club have to file for bankrupt liao.

So, things are not looking bright at all.

youyayu SG

nvm la.. liverpool got so many history lecturer

surly then can fork out the money to buy 1 red piece of poo

well.. reina was distracted by it....plus johnson cocked eye, kicked the balloon away instead of the ball...

The beach ball deflected the soccer ball to the left of Reina.

Even without the beach ball, sunderland was bombing Liverpool goal mouth.

Liverpool fans will be furious with Ah Ben when he lose to Lyon at Anfield next week.

Ah Ben biggest nemesis = himself.

lol...u shud actually say Ah ben biggest foes: his ego, inflexibility and stubborn character...

zocoss SG

Liverpool won't go bankrupt even if they don't qualify for the CL cos they are a big club with lots of potential marketing wise, so there will always be someone interested to invest in them...

On a side note, this was the boy that launch that Pool ball onto the pitch...

He looked so happy there having fun at the match... But I guess he must be regretting what he did now... And when the goal went in, I think those around him must be giving him the look of "Oh boy you idiot what did you do! "

You want to know a big surprise... Rafa will make-up for this lost and win Lyon then everything would be forgotten again...

If the beach ball (it's confirmed to be a beach ball, not a balloon) could deflect the soccer ball, it just goes to show that Bent's shot had pretty low momentum and might actually have been saveable.

But I can say that the kid can't really be blamed for his enthusiasm, and besides, Reina or his defenders should have kicked it away as soon as possible.

In the end, Bent was given too much space to maneuver, and that was what that really caused the goal. The defenders should have harassed him and shut him down, but they failed to do so.

Rooney9 SG

Liverpool is in serious trouble not qualifying for the CL. as for winning the title, can forget about it.

Y_Shun SG

walan is that really the goal ? funny sia!

zocoss SG

It was a weird goal i must say... Johnson was grabbing his own 2 balls and kicking the other 2 balls at the same time... lol

Johnson seem to have cleared the beach ball while missing the actual match ball... and it got deflected at that split second and instead of going to Reina's right, it then went to Reina's left...

Another weird thing I thought was Reina continue and kept his eyes on the wrong ball while the actual match ball was going pass him and into the net...

So many strange incidents that led to one crazy goal...
