One Premier League hopeful
has convinced his agent to build his Mum a £300,000 house in the
Caribbean!
In a report on pushy parents, The Sun highlights the
example of a young Premier
League striker who was looking to move on to a bigger
club at 17.
His mother invited four top football agencies to 'interview' for
the chance to represent her son and therefore get on the gravy
train.
When each of the four agents sat down to discuss the young man's
career prospects they were shocked to be presented with a piece of
paper.
On it was a drawing of a plot of land in the Caribbean where
they must agree to pay for the building of a £300k house for the
mother.
The refusal to do so ruled three of the agents out right away.
The fourth, however, got the player and became Bob the Builder at
the same time. In this case, it was the agent who provided the
financial incentive but it is more common for clubs to do exactly
the same.
