Former Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg has refused
to rule out a surprise return to the Premier League in
January.
The 32-year-old made more than 200 league appearances for the
Gunners from 1998-2007, netting 46 goals to help the club win two
Premier League titles, as well as three FA Cups.
The ex-Swedish international left Highbury for London rivals
West Ham United before later joining newly-formed Major League
Soccer side Seattle Sounders.
And in a situation similar to David Beckham, Ljungberg - who won
75 caps for his country - is being linked with a move to Europe in
January in order to maintain his fitness during the MLS off-season,
with a return to Arsenal for the second half of the 2009/10
campaign reportedly on the cards.
The Emirates Stadium outfit refused to comment on the
speculation, with a club spokesman telling
Fotbollskanalen:
"We don't comment on speculation.
"When and if a deal will happen is something we would confirm
when it happens."
But when recently questioned about his future following the
conclusion of the MLS campaign, Ljungberg insisted:
"I haven't decided what I want to do."
